The production of screen films flexibly and more economically is claimed to be possible with the combination of Colorgate's Filmgate technology and the Canon range iPF inkjet printers.

Colourgate said that the latest generation of the Canon iPF range - the 500, 600, 700, 5000, 8000 and 9000, when also paired with the company's Screenfilm medium further provides accurate multi-colour separations with the greatest possible UV density The complete system, consisting of a Canon iPF printer, ColorgATE control (the Productionserver and Filmgate Module, or Filmgate4 as stand-alone software) and the medium is the result of extensive development, coordination and test runs, said Colorgate

The claimed performance allows registration-accurate multi-colour separations up to large format sizes.

Thanks to the combination of printing modes it can be produced in a claimed four four minutes per square metre with a maximum claimed resolution of 92 lines per inch (lpi) - based on the newly developed modes.

In addition, density values of Dmax UV >3 were also achieved, particularly because the ink dries quickly on Screenfilm.

In combination with the dye-ink iPF 500, 600 and 700, that also provides high scratch resistance, added Colorgate.
