Online shop enables users to buy CG Web to Print

A ColorGATE Digital Output Solutions GmbH product story

Colorgate introduced its online shop for digital large-format printing at this year's Fespa exhibition, enabling users to buy the CG Web to Print e-commerce system with a flat-rate licence.

The company said that, while web-to-print (W2P) concepts are comparatively costly in annual licensing fees alone, CG Web to Print makes it easy to order such standard LFP products as posters, PVC and textile banners, displays and framed canvas prints and to pass on these orders automatically to the production back-end.

The system, which is compatible with many software RIPs, is designed to work together with Colorgate's Productionserver 6 production RIP.

The standard version of the ASP CG Web to Print model features a range of functions for order processing, from the fully automatic creation of quotes, delivery notes and invoices to the automatic check of the PDF files received, as well as setting up open shops for the business-to-consumer (B2C) marketplace or closed shops for the business-to-business (B2B) marketplace.

Various payment methods are supported and the appearance of the shop can also be adapted to reflect the operator's own corporate design.

Colorgate said that, thanks to the modular structure of CG Web to Print, there are many different ways in which the system can be expanded.

The operator's own or licensed image databases, for example, can be integrated into the system and another option is the wall designer module for wallpaper.

At the Fespa exhibition, the Epson stand, for example, showcased CG Web to Print for individual blind production using Productionserver 6 and the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 printer.

On the Roland stand, CG Web to Print jobs were being printed on the RS-640S with Productionserver 6 and transferred to advertising articles in a sublimation process.

Textile flags, banners and displays ordered in the online shop on the Colorgate stand at Fespa were being produced on the Neschen stand with Productionserver 6 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9700 printer and finished with the addition of protective films.
