Compose System will demonstrate Express Workflow 3.0 for the first time in Spain during Graphispag 2007.

Held in Barcelona from February 19 - 25th, Graphispag will see Compose have a strong presence at the show with its Spanish distributors and it will stage live demonstrations of Express Workflow 3.0 and Star Proof V5.

They will take place on the stands of partners, including: MDI on stand 361, pavilion 3, ASG on stand 47, pavilion 3 and MGV Colour on stand 713, in pavilion 2.

Compose System said that Express WorkFlow 3.0 handles all pre-press operations for CTP and digital printing applications, whilst Star Proof V5, the dot proof system for inkjet printers, is said to provide contract screened proofs up to 200 lines per inch (lpi).

Compose System's Express Workflow provides reliability and efficiency to meet the changing demands of today's pre-press industry.

At its heart is the Compose Express RIP, a version of the Harlequin RIP.

A professional pre-press workflow system, Express Workflow is said to combine practical functions with ease of use, ensuring tight integration and smooth data delivery between all processes in the customer's pre-press workflow.

Express Workflow optimises and automates the production process and ensures data integrity, whether handling PDF or pure PostScript workflow, added the company.

Steve Donegan, European sales and marketing manger at Compose Systems, said: "Our Spanish distributors report that their customers have expressed a great deal of interest in the latest version of Express Workflow 3.0.

Spain is an important market for Compose with a significant installation user base, so we are really looking forward to meeting with customers and demonstrating this system's powerful new features." He added: "The latest release of Express Workflow has addressed users' productivity requirements with increased RIP speeds, enhanced imposition features, Java-based job submission, job monitoring and job tracking." Available for both Mac and PC, additional new features include template creation and job logging system, together with a detailed history reporting database.

Star Proof is a true dot proofing system for producing up to 200lpi contract proofs on inkjet printers.

With its Actual Dot system to replicate original screening and dot patterns at proofing resolutions, Star Proof is claimed to provide proofs with a hard dot, sharp images, accurate colour and fine detail as they will appear on the press, said the company.

And with ROOM proofing architecture to resemble the same set of high resolution separations that are sent to the plate setter, or image setter, Star Proof is claimed to ensure data integrity between proof and print.

New features in Star Proof Version 5 include what is claimed to be a new generation of ICS colour management that supports ICC profile and tools for the flexo and packaging market that allow the adjustment of individual separations, dot loss and extreme dot gain value.

In addition, it includes colour adjustment features, Colour Shade supporting LAB value for spot colour, CS Reader version 2.0 support for density and LAB measurement and automated spectrophotometer device input support.

Star Proof V5 has also received official Fogra certification for halftone printing with the Epson Stylus Pro 9800.

Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association, a respected European printing organisation, based its certification of Star Proof on testing criteria, ensuring that the product conforms to stringent industry standards for accurate colour proofing defined in ISO 12647-7.
