Communications company Corporate Mailing Matters (CMM), has extended its activities in to transactional mail (statements, statutory messages, notices and customer service correspondence).
The feeder has the facility to align sheets automatically, which, along with the high pile delivery, enhances register and increases productivity.
The machine is controlled from the Prinect CP2000 Centre and with the Color Fast Solution and Alcolor Dampening System it can set the inking systems to enable it to give customers really top colour quality work consistently, said the company.
Andrew Morton, production manager for CMM National, commented: "This investment is another stage in CMM's overall strategic upgrade of its technology infrastructure.
With the Heidelberg on board we can now be even more competitive by offering our customers improved quality and faster service with improved economies, from simple print jobs such as letter heads, brochures and leaflets, to a complete mailing package.
As a group, we provide for all stages from print, through personalisation, to the mailing of the finished items." He added: "Because the press is extensively automated, we will be able to print very short runs profitably as well as seeing the benefits from large jobs thanks to fast and stable production." The investment of the new press comes shortly after the purchase of a new MB Multimaster 38 folder, bought to support the growth of CMM National's transactional mailing business.
The group has also invested in on-line camera systems for its polywrapping division, Alphamail, and a new IT system to consolidate all of its business functions in to one system.
