Colour Confidence will launch Colorvision Printfix Pro on stand E40 at Focus on Imaging, NEC, Bimingham (UK) from February 26-March 1.

Colour Confidence will launch Colorvision Printfix Pro on stand E40 at Focus on Imaging, NEC, Bimingham (UK) from February 26-March 1.

The introduction of Printfix Pro brings spectro-based printer profiling below GBP400 for the first time and reflects the continued trend in colour management of falling price and increased emphasis on ease-of-use, said Colour Confidence.

Colorvision Printfix Pro is based around the new Datacolor 1005 Spectrocolorimeter patch reading hardware and stand-alone software.

The new software creates printer profiles that support all RGB-driven inkjet, dye-sub, thermal, chemical and laser printers.

Spectro technology enables support of a wide range of media, especially third-party fine art papers and third-party inks, according to the company.

Printfix Pro is designed to bridge the gap between high-end, expensive spectrophotometers and less sophisticated entry-level systems, added Colour Confidence.

Geoffrey Clements, the managing director of Colour Confidence, said: "Printfix Pro mirrors our ambition for the colour management market.

It takes another step in lowering the price of professional level systems and continues to build upon the progression of easy-to-use technology.

With these key ingredients there is every chance that Printfix Pro will match the success of the Spyder and become the mass-market printer profiling product of choice." The new Datacolor1005 Spectrocolorimeter is a native USB device, so there are fewer cables and no external power supply requirements.

When not in use, Printfix Pro rests on a calibration base, which incorporates the device's calibration tiles.

The tiles set the instrument's grey, black and white calibration which is critical in maintaining instrument accuracy over time, added the company.

The Colorvision Printfix Pro Suite contains Printfix Pro and the Colorvision Spyder2Pro Studio monitor calibration software.

Printfix Pro Suite gives creative professionals the assurance of complete colour quality, and is designed as an integrated hardware and software system for all colour-critical users, said Colour Confidence.

It costs GBP419 (Euro599).

Colorvision Printfix Pro will be available in March 2006.

The product includes a Datacolor 1005 Spectrocolorimeter, patch reading hardware and stand-alone software and will cost GBP349 (Euro499) ex VAT.

Printfix Pro Suite is available for GBP419 (Euro599) ex VAT.
