Colour Confidence has unveiled its new colour management package, the Studio XR.

Colour Confidence has unveiled its new colour management package, the Studio XR It includes a monitor profiling package based around the Monaco Optix XR, the Kodak Color Management Check-Up Kit, and an inkjet paper test pack

Studio XR is available at an introductory price of GBP99 (EUR149).

Studio XR is said to be designed to provide users with an easy-to-use colour management system and it includes Colour Confidence's inkjet paper test pack and a GBP20 (EUR30) voucher, redeemable against the customer's next colour management purchase.

Geoffrey Clements, the managing director of Colour Confidence, said: "We are continually looking at ways to make colour management more accessible to a wider audience and help educate the market.

Introducing the Studio XR will give many customers the chance to incorporate high-quality monitor calibration in to their digital workflow, as well as the opportunity to learn more about colour management." The Monaco Optix XR monitor calibration device normally retails for GBP150 (EUR225) said Colour Confidence, and it is said to build profiles for LCD, CRT and laptop screens.

Combining a colourimeter with wizard-based software, the Optix XR is suited to users at all levels, added the company.

The Kodak Colour Management Check-Up Kit is said to provide users with a visual reference to check the colour accuracy of their screens and printers.

It consists of seven colour-managed test prints, their equivalent digital files on a CD Rom and the Colour Confidence guidance document.

Quality of media is an important consideration when trying to achieve accurate colour, according to Colour Confidence.

To give customers an insight in to the difference a paper can make, the company has selected five types of paper to be included in the Studio XR.

The Permajet papers in the pack include fibre-based Gloss, Oyster, Portrait, Matt Plus, and Parchment.

To operate Monaco Optix XR requires Windows 8SE/ME/2000/XP and Pentium (or better), 32Mb application RAM, 50Mb disk space.

Colour monitor with 24-bit or greater video card (with LUT support).

With the Macintosh operating system, it needs OS X (10.2 or later), 128Mb RAM, 64Mb disk space and a colour monitor with 24-bit or greater video card (with LUT support).
