Colour Confidence has made available two exclusive systems for designers and photographers.

Colour Confidence has made available two exclusive systems for designers and photographers Based around the Lacie 300 series monitors, the Designer Edition and Photo Edition include a selection of products designed to improve the user's overall workflow and provide value, at the same price as the monitor on its own, said Colour Confidence

The two new products are available immediately from the Colour Confidence website.

The generation II Lacie 300 series is said to build on the heritage of the Lacie Electron monitors.

They have improved colour fidelity and sharpness, as well as enhanced colour uniformity across the screen, said Colour Confidence.

Additionally, there are improvements within the Blue-Eye Pro software that is included with the monitor.

The software is claimed to be easy-to-use, has an increased number of advanced options and evaluation tools and now supports the full range of monitor calibration devices including the Eye-One Display-2, Optix XR and Spyder2 colourimeters.

The Designer Edition includes the Lacie 300 series monitor of choice - 319, 320 or 321 and comes bundled with the Pantone Colour Bridge and the Colour Confidence Repro Pack.

The company believes the package is suitable for any designer who wants accurate on-screen colour, needs to specify colour for print and requires visual validation of their on-screen and printed images.

The Pantone Colour Bridge is said to be the most popular Pantone guide available.

Formerly known as the Pantone Solid to Process Guide, the book is designed to help determine how a Pantone colour will appear when reproduced in standard process colours (CMYK).

It also shows RGB and HTML colour values for optimal display on a monitor.

The Repro Pack is claimed to provide confidence in colour and is a quick and easy way to check if colour appears to be going adrift on monitors or proofers and printers.

The pack consists of a digital CMYK test image, digital RGB image, a reference profile designed to give optimum results on press and a press sheet with a RHEM strip for visual matching to the digital CMYK test image.

The Photo Edition also includes a choice of 300 series monitor as well as the Kodak Colour Management Check-Up Kit and a copy of the Iridius Actions 1.1 Pro bundle.

The Kodak Check-Up Kit comprises a set of seven digital test files with photographic reference prints, the Colour Confidence Guidance for Digital Photography PDF, a RHEM Strip to verify viewing conditions and generic ICC profiles for different photographic printers using Kodak Professional output materials.

The Iridius Actions bundle is a collection of more than 90 professional production and creative actions that have been written specifically to streamline and automate repetitive Photoshop tasks regularly undertaken by digital photographers.

Geoffrey Clements, managing director of Colour Confidence, said: "The Lacie 300 series monitors are an excellent colour accurate system that our technical team awarded four stars in their recent evaluation.

The two systems have been created with the idea of providing the customer with as many of the right tools for the job as possible - the Designer and Photo Editions achieve this by taking in to account the needs of both markets and adding value to an already excellent product.".
