Colour Confidence, the independent colour management firm, has today responded to the launch of Windows Vista by announcing a compatibility testing programme.

In conjunction with manufacturers, the company is seeking to provide official confirmation of Vista compatibility for its colour management systems.

Colour Confidence has already confirmed that the Pantone Huey is suitable for use with the new operating system, with update downloads available.

Preliminary testing of other systems is also proving favourable, added the company but the advice for the short term is to proceed with caution.

Geoffrey Clements, managing director of Colour Confidence, said: "Until we can offer full, official verification of system compatibility, our advice is not to use Windows Vista for colour critical work.

We will of course do all we can to clarify the situation as soon as possible.

Colour Confidence and our manufacturers are committed to offering systems suitable for use with the Vista operating system and we will continue to update the market as new information becomes available." Regularly updated details of Vista compatible colour management products can be found in the Latest information section on Colour Confidence's website.
