Training Guide Provides Colour Management Basics
An interactive guide to assist training to use Eye-One's i1 Defined, has been introduced by colour management company Colour Confidence.
Designed by X-Rite, the Colour Confidence system is claimed to offer users an overview of the fundamentals of colour management.
An enhanced version of the package, including a Personal Colour Trainer session is available with all professional level Eye-One systems.
Personal Colour Trainer (PCT) is said to allow users to tailor i1 Defined support to their needs via an hour long, one-on-one web-based session with an X-Rite trainer.
PCT covers the customer's day-to-day activities and the potential role of their Eye-One system within it, including how to create the best profiles and implement them through desktop applications, as well as ways to avoid mistakes.
PCT is included with the Eye-One Photo, Photo SG, Proof and XT and Colour Confidence said it now supplies those systems with a range of free accessory kits.
The kits include a free colour kit with every Eye-One Photo and Photo SG.
It also includes a Kodak Colour Management Check-Up Kit for verifying results, as well as a Total Balance neutral reference target.
Colour Confidence also provides a free Colour Kit Pro with each Eye-One XT - the Colour Kit, as well as a Colour Confidence Repro Pack to check for colour drift.
Geoffrey Clements, the managing director of Colour Confidence, commented: "With the introduction of i1 Defined, X-Rite is offering Eye-One users something genuinely unique and we're delighted to be able to provide this to our customers.
Eye-One systems have always combined user-friendliness with professional standard features and the extra support from i1 Defined takes that to a new level." He added: "i1 Defined offers much more than the standard manual or CD-ROM as it gives users the chance to understand just how their Eye-One systems can benefit their specific workflows and, therefore, maximise the return on their investment." In Clements' opinion: "The reputation of Eye-One sproducts has always been second to none.
When compiling the new accessory kits, our aim was to add genuine value to those products and with the addition of i1 Defined, we feel the Eye-One range is now an even more attractive proposition for colour professionals.".
