The strong systems and financial package developed by Agfa and London distributor Colyer Graphics as an incentive for potential large format customers, has already realised valuable orders for the Grand Sherpa range of powerful, digital ink jet printers.

Ten orders for Agfa's Sherpa digital ink jet printers have been won thanks to a technical and financial package jointly promoted by Agfa and London distributor Colyer Graphics.

Formulated for large format printers.

The incentive package focuses on Agfa's Grand Sherpa range, which includes what Agfa describe as a fast engine, RIP, colour management software, plus media and inks.

"It is this total approach, plus our technical support, that has enabled us to clinch business, in a tough, competitive climate.

No other major large or small format ink jet supplier can match this standard of performance.

When an attractive financial deal is allied to technical superiority you're on a winner," said Colyer's joint managing director Nigel Southey.

"We can show savings over other colour proofing systems," claims Southey, "based upon the superior speed of the Grand Sherpa and the accuracy of colour print production." He cites the specification of the Grand Sherpa systems, with output at two prints per minute, 1,440 x 1,440 dpi resolution, piezo technology and multi-density inks.

Grand Sherpa is also said to be capable of closed loop calibration for consistent colour output.

Southey added that the spread of recent buyers - from high street retailers to corporate accounts and design agencies - illustrates that few companies operating in a time sensitive environment, want to be involved in calibrating technical kit.

There is also the additional benefit for buyers of a total system provided with hardware, software and complementary consumables from one supplier.
