Brackett shared a stand with its UK and European agent, CP Graphics, at Ipex 2006, where the company's finishing equipment for automating pad production, was exhibited.

The machines are said to eliminate the traditional bottleneck in the finishing area.

The three most popular Brackett models were highlighted during the show, including the Circular Padder, which is an automated stand-alone machine for producing pads at a claimed 1,800 pads per hour.

CP Graphics added that users can gain labour savings of six to eight times that of manual methods for a fast growing process.

The Padmaster 2000, a smaller version of the Brackett Circular Padder, is a bench-top unit that is said to produce padded products at 720 pads per hour and which is suitable for short-run applications, including those for in-plant operations and quick printers.

The Covermax, which augments the Circular Padder and allows users to attach covers and writing shields to pads, has a claimed throughput of 1,500 pads per hour.

The Covermax is said to reduce the labour-intensive operation by up to one tenth, added CP Graphics.

Users can attach covers or shields at either end of the pads without the need to reset the machine.
