Pumps for the printing industry have to meet definite requirements, according to UK company Chemical Process Solutions (CPS).

CPS said it has developed pumps especially for applications with glues, flexo-print inks, and UV-varnishes.

The design of the pumps includes two separated liquid chambers, as well as an integrated pulsation damper, so the pumps provide delivery as well as re-delivery.

No second pump is required, according to the company.

CPS said that with its flexo-print ink pump.

ink is transported to the press via the delivery chamber.

The second chamber of the pump can be used as an extractor pump and ink not needed can be sucked from the doctor chamber back to the supply container.

The company added that all its pumps also meet the ATEX requirements of the directive 94/9/EG.
