Fast route to wide printing
Colourgen has an exclusive agreement with Seiko I Infotech to distribute its IP-4500 six-colour 720dpi resolution, 54in wide inkjet printer.
Fine debut for image art
Western Computer has installed the UK's first Stylus Pro 9600 large format printer for fine art reproduction.
The Seiko Colorpainter 64S is a new 64-inch, six-colour solvent inkjet printer that is said to offer true 720dpi printing at 16 square metres per hour (approximately two-five times faster than competing models), directly onto uncoated media such as vinyl and banner stock.
The printer was developed to allow sign makers and screenprinters to produce rugged outdoor applications such as signs, banners and vehicle graphics.
The colour output offers good adhesion, light fastness, scratch resistance, and weather-resistance for outdoor applications of up to three years.
Colourgen will also be introducing its Screen and Sign Solution, a product bundle said to increase the value of screenprinters' and signmakers' investment in digital ink jet technology.
It comprises an Epson Stylus Pro 7600 or 9600 wide format printer, PC and Colorgate's Screen and Sign Epson-edition RIP software.
There will also be another chance to see the Encad Vinyljet, launched at last year's Sign UK.
The Vinyljet is designed to provide an entry-level system for small-medium sized sign makers to succeed in the wide-format, outdoor sign arena at an affordable price.
Colourgen's stand at Sign UK will be A10.
Sign UK, NEC Birmingham, March 30-April 1 2004.
