Colurgen Cut Encad Printer Prices
Colourgen, the distributor of large format digital printing solutions, has announced that prices for its Encad wide format printers have been cut by up to 17% until December 2003.
Jeff Biggs, Colourgen's managing director, commented: "This is our 10th consecutive year at the show, and as usual, we have got some really exciting new products on display, including a UK first with the Colorspan 5400uv.
We encourage users and resellers to come and see the very latest in uv inkjet flatbed technology, brand new laminators and an Epson printer available exclusively from Colourgen that offers the four-colour photo black ink capabilities many of our customers have been waiting for." The Colorspan 5400UV series UV-curable flatbed inkjet printers are targeted at small to medium-sized sign and print shops.
The printers combine the print quality typical of a water-based thermal inkjet printer, with the outdoor durability of a solvent printer, with the media versatility and cost savings of a UV-curable inkjet printer, it is claimed.
The four models consist of the Colorspan 5440UV (four-colour), Colorspan 5445UV (2 x 4-colour), Colorspan 5460UV (six-colour) and the Colorspan 5465UV (2 x six-colour).
All four models have a 54-inch (137cm) print width and feature a set of integrated tables that fold up and can extend outward to accommodate rigid media in excess of eight feet (244cm) in length, said Colourgen.
The tables fold down and out of the way for printing on roll-fed media whilst conserving floor space.
The Aquaseal AS 1600 offers roll-to-roll finishing capabilities and provides efficient and uniform coatings for outdoor signage applications, said Colourgen.
The laminator is claimed to be easy to operate and is an inexpensive and reliable finishing system that can help printing businesses save time and increase profitability.
The Seal 62 Base represents Seal's latest product for the digital display market and it is said to be suitable for mounting and laminating pressure sensitive products up to 1,575mm.
Colourgen said that the machine represents a flexible package at an affordable price without compromising its functionality.
The Epson Stylus Pro 9400-Film with photo black ink is another exclusive product available to see on the Colourgen stand.
Other 2 x 4 colour printers in the current Epson Stylus Pro range have CMY and Matte K.
Most film separation applications and many low-cost, fast point-of-sale applications require the black to be a photo black, said the company.
However, the new product from Epson meets that demand and on Colourgen's stand it will be demonstrating a film separation application with Colorgate Filmgate.
Finally, Colourgen will also be showing a laminator from the Royal Sovereign range.
The laminators are available from Colourgen.
