City Printing Goes To Town With Xerox Digital
London's City Printing has invested ?115,000 with Litho Supplies to install a Xerox Docucolor 5252, making it the first DC5252 to be installed in the London area by Litho Supplies.
It is believed to be the first time any company in this sector has incorporated such information on its packaging.
The Corniche team was led by David Ettie, who has previously worked with Sinclair and John Taylor, who joined as technical customer services manager from Leeds firm Intouch earlier this year.
Ettie said: "Our job has been to manage the retail product range with design being provided by Crimson Cat and print supplied through various printers in the UK, Holland and France.
In total, the work included some 75 designs covering both professional and retail packs." He added: "Ahead of retouching the colourful pack images, the Corniche team calibrated the printers' machines to provide digital proofs that accurately reflected the press conditions and the substrate from which the packaging was produced.
Each one of the retail packs contains high quality graphics and required significant image manipulation to make certain the full impact of the image was retained." Sinclair's marketing director, Fiona Carrington, said the packaging re-launch was part of an investment in new machinery to boost manufacturing capacity in the light of a steady increase in sales.
She said: "Key in the appointment of Corniche was its ability to provide effective communications throughout the project and the company's guarantee of enhanced accuracy with which the originations were produced.
Both these factors were regarded as essential in the light of our tight delivery requirements.
We're delighted with the results.".
