Graphical Papers Spearhead Global Growth
The full range of graphical paper brands from Curtis Fine Papers - the Curtis Collection - is based on designs by Navy Blue of Edinburgh.
Curtis has rebranded its papers and swatched them accordingly, providing customers with the right products and tools to make their choice swiftly and effectively, they claimed.
Jane Milroy, Curtis marketing manager explained: "We identified that specifiers go through three very clear stages when selecting papers.
Once we had defined these stages, it made sense to tailor our product range and presentation to fit into this process." The process, which Curtis said assumes no previous brand knowledge amongst users, firstly asks the specifier to decide between classic paper, and environmentally friendly paper.
Then the specifier decides on a type of paper, whether smooth, textured, or translucent, for instance.
Having arrived at the correct product type, the specifier browses the papers on offer before selecting their stock.
Curtis believes it has streamlined its product offering and presentation by creating two core brands - Classic and Eco.
Within each brand, there are four product types - 'smooth' (for smooths and super smooths), 'detail' (featuring textures and details), 'clear' (translucents) and 'hot' (seasonal offerings).
All Curtis's established brands are now contained within Classic and Eco.
Papers in the Eco range include recycled, totally chlorine free and alternative fibre papers.
New colours have been introduced into the ranges to reflect current trends added the company.
Along with a separate swatch called Create that has been produced to promote Curtis's bespoke papermaking service, the Eco and Classic swatches form a step-by-step process to finding the desired paper as quickly as possible.
