The new Veritas paper from Curtis Fine Papers is claimed to be an original concept in business stationery.
Curtis Fine Papers said Veritas combines the prestige of a premium corporate identity paper with the protection of a range of security features.
Every Veritas paper weight is indelibly engraved with an individual number making each sheet unique, added the company.
The Scottish paper maker said it spent two years developing Veritas, which is targeted at legal firms, banks, insurance companies, large corporate users and luxury goods companies, as well as graphic designers and specifiers.
Veritas is said to have a range of applications, including contracts, deeds, certificates, prestigious corporate identities, event tickets and other secure documents.
Curtis Fine papers said that customers can choose from two Veritas options, Veritas I and Veritas II.
Both options are available in paper and board weights and feature a smooth ultra white sheet with a luxury cotton containing finish and archival properties along with a selection of inventive security treatments, added the company.
Veritas I is described as having an intricate and custom-made holographic line sealed on to the paper and board.
Registered with the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA) the line contains a high resolution micro printed image hidden within the strip, making it virtually impossible to replicate or reproduce, it is said.
In addition, Veritas I paper weights feature individual numbering and enhanced toner bond that reduces the risk of laser printer toner removal.
Security fibres that appear under UV light are incorporated in both paper and board weights, claimed Curtis.
Veritas II paper weights feature a watermark line providing the claimed 'built-in' security as part of the paper itself, individual numbering and enhanced toner bond.
Security fibres that appear under UV light are incorporated in to both paper and board weights.
Veritas envelopes, available in four sizes, are foil lined for added opacity, contain security fibres and come with optional self-adhesive tamper evident security seals.
Therese Waterson, marketing manager at Curtis Fine Papers said: "Document fraud continues to pose a major problem to businesses as they are exposed to counterfeiting techniques that are increasingly sophisticated and widespread.
Veritas is aimed at companies where document security is paramount.
It discourages duplication and alteration with a range of security features and facilitates authentication, thanks to the unique numbering system, the Veritas hologram and watermark." She added: "Up until now, business stationery paper and security paper performed two separate functions, the first was principally an aesthetic choice, the second a practical option.
Veritas fuses the two paper types together, resulting in a beautifully finished sheet with attractive and robust visible security devices and additional hidden features." Curtis said it has created a promotional folder to support the launch of Veritas.
The Veritas folder features product information, including an diagram outlining the key features of the paper.
Printed samples showcase a range of possible uses for the paper, including a university diploma, a legal contract, a prestigious event invitation and a corporate identity.
"The Veritas promotional material is designed to reflect the essence of the brand by being both practical and appealing," explained Waterson.
Veritas I is available from stock in 110gsm (A4 and SRA2) and 280gsm (SRA2).
Veritas II is stocked in 100gsm (A4 and SRA2) and 280gsm (B1).
Bespoke options are also available.
