Colour Systems has invested in proof certification in preparation for working to the PPA's proof4press specification.

Colour Systems has invested in proof certification in preparation for working to the PPA's proof4press specification It has bought two DuPont Cromalin B2s and two Canon inkjet printers with Oris Colortuner software, including the Certified Proof module

"The last piece of the jigsaw is proving the proof," said Colour Systems joint managing director Dave Brin.

Oris' Certified Proof software will be used to check all the proofs produced are within tolerance and a certificate with all the details attached to the proof to show it has been correctly made.

As soon as it is available the firm will use the proof4press verifier software.

Colour Systems is also working with some customers to develop a colour managed soft proofing system to completely eliminate hard copy proofs from the workflow until the pressroom.
