Ctrlcrosstalk utility simplifies text editing

A Ctrl Publishing product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jul 1, 2010

Ctrl Publishing, a developer of Adobe Indesign and Incopy plug-ins and workflow solutions has released Ctrlcrosstalk utility for Incopy CS5.

Ctrlcrosstalk for Adobe Incopy is said to make editing text in Indesign documents easy: by simply opening the Indesign file, editing the text and saving it.

Collaboration between Indesign and Incopy users is improved as Crosstalk bypasses the assignments and the check-in/check-out workflow otherwise required to edit the Indesign document.

Ctrlcrosstalk enables workgroups of copywriters, art directors and others involved to work on the same Indesign layout without overwriting each other's text changes.

The copywriter works in Adobe Incopy, a professional writing and editing program, while the art director works in Adobe Indesign will full control of the document.

Ctrl Publishing said Ctrlcrosstalk has several advantages: no need for layout software to edit text; everyone in the workgroup can access and edit text in the Indesign document; existing file structures on the server remain intact; simplified workflow without advanced controls.
