Welsh Printer Merges Its Two Operations

Colourprint UK has merged its two printing businesses, with Haven Colourprint UK now combined with the Welsh operation with its head office in Cardiff.

The new office comprises the sales operation and a local pre-press department, which is calibrated and linked directly to the presses at Colourprint's Pembrokeshire production facility.

The Cardiff office will remain at its Colchester Avenue site until the Summer of 2008 when it will move to new offices in the centre of the city.

In addition to the merger, the Colourprint board has been joined by Andrew Forrest as commercial director with immediate effect.

The Cardiff site will continue to operate with 12 staff, complimenting the 33 staff in Pembrokeshire and both companies have camera links where each business can view the other in real time, added Colourprint.

Colourprint managing director, Karl Long, commented: "With sales targets of between GBP4.6 million and GBP5 million this year the merger strengthens the company's position in the market place and allows ample scope for growth.

We still have plans to open regional offices mirroring the Cardiff headquarters in 2009, which will enable the level of sales and service to increase even further." Colourprint, which is due to be visited by British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) chief executive Michael Johnson later this month, said it ended 2007 by winning the Innovation Award at the 2007 Pembrokeshire Business Awards.

The company also finished runner-up in the Entrepreneur and Employer of the Year awards categories.

Colourprint UK is one of the UK Environment Agency's six preferred pan-European print suppliers.

Colourprint produces a mixture of brochures, company literature, leaflets and promotional material for print management companies, design agencies and end customers.
