DCP Systems has been awarded the exclusive UK distributorship for Dr Graphix TR51 inkjet media.
DCP Systems has been awarded the exclusive UK distributorship for Dr Graphix TR51 inkjet media.
Designed for a wide range of indoor, as well as outdoor (when laminated) applications, TR51comes in photo gloss, satin and backlit film versions and is claimed to be durable, scratch and tear resistant at a cost of ?2.70 per square metre.
"TR51 is tough and it provides the same superb image quality that you would expect with white opaque films but at a fraction of the cost," said DCP's sales director Darren Walker.
The media range is said to be designed to accept heavy ink coverage and can be used with dye based and pigmented inks, making it ideal for photographic and exhibition graphics, roll-ups, banners and posters.
Dr Graphics products are also claimed to be biodegradable.
TR51 is universally coated and is said to allow high ink coverage, whilst maintaining image quality.
DCP believes it provides an alternative to Tyvek fabrics and vinyl and that it is cost effective by providing ink savings by using a claimed 25%-30% less ink than standard photo base papers.
TR51 backlit film is also said to be tear resistant and features a photosynthetic substrate.
DCP said prints are also scratch resistant with the base media delivering natural diffusion and resulting in high impact imaging.
In brightly lit applications TR51 satin reduces light reflection to provide stunning displays.
The media range can also be grommetted, eyeleted or sewn for banner applications.
In light box applications, TR51 provides a highly economical solution providing excellent light diffusion, claimed DCP, whilst displays are semi translucent without the problems of paper grain show-through.
For indoor applications, lamination is unnecessary.
For long-term outdoor applications TR51 is also said to be easily laminated without fear of edge splitting or de-lamination.
The company said that the media provides good adhesion properties for cold pressure sensitive laminates as well as for hot lamination at temperatures up to 87.7 degrees C.
