Tint Books Benefit From Environmental Papers
The ability for paper, design and print to produce innovative publications has been demonstrated by The James McNaughton Group along with colour printer Boss Print and press manufacturer Heidelberg.
The deal is a significant one for Denmaur Papers, said the company, which is an independent UK paper merchant group, as last year Sutton, Surrey-based RBI had begun to review whether to invest in a new paper management system, or outsource to a third party supplier.
RBI's procurement and production director, Eric Lambert, said: "When we investigated the market last autumn, it was apparent that Denmaur had invested heavily in its Tops 2 management system.
After looking at a number of systems, it was the best option for RBI." The deal supports RBI's continued partnership with Finnish paper manufacturer UPM, which provides a portfolio of magazine and supplements papers on a direct basis.
The new arrangement has Denmaur solely controlling paper stocks and usage of the weekly and monthly titles for RBI.
Lambert continued: "Denmaur plan our paper demand, place forward orders, control mill and printer stocks and monitor usage.
We have access to the system online and financial data is simply uploaded in to accounts through a weekly data file." It was an interesting development for Denmaur and all about timing, said the company.
According to Denmaur Paper's marketing director Peter Sommerville: "When we designed Tops 2, our second generation paper management system, we focused on improving work flow efficiencies, ensuring ease of use for both Denmaur's paper controllers and clients alike.
Clearly this investment has demonstrated to Reed Business Information and other publishers that Denmaur has a powerful system that can handle even the very largest of contracts.".
