Global Graphics and Dynagram have announced total JDF compatibility between Dynagram's Dynastrip imposition software and Global Graphics' Harlequin RIP.

Global Graphics and Dynagram have announced total JDF compatibility between Dynagram's Dynastrip imposition software and Global Graphics' Harlequin RIP.

Global Graphics and Dynagram have been testing their products together for several months.

The companies believe that the Harlequin RIP's speed, flexibility and open architecture make it ideal for use within a workflow with Dynastrip that, combined with the Harlequin RIP can make for a cost-effective PDF and JDF-enabled workflow.

They said that it is common for small pre-press companies to use an imposition design program as the control panel for their complete workflow.

In conjunction with a RIP providing in-RIP trapping, separation and high quality screening, such a production line can provide a highly efficient approach to output.

Harlequin RIP and Dynastrip demonstrate the ease with which printers will be able to build a simple JDF workflow, they added, as both are equally suited to being integrated with other components into more complex workflows within larger print sites.

Bryan Hartong, Global Graphics' vice president of sales and marketing said: "For us the compatibility of these two technologies illustrates the ease with which third party components can be incorporated into workflows constructed around the Harlequin RIP.

This announcement is significant from two points of view.

There are many small pre-press companies out there wondering whether JDF is just reserved for larger sites with MIS systems in place, and our compatibility with Dynagram means that they will be able to access the efficiency benefits that JDF brings and improve their bottom line." He added that larger companies would know that the two products would work hand in hand with each other within a more complex workflow environment.

Francois Guerard, president of Dynagram added: "Global Graphics and Dynagram both furnish top of the line JDF-compatible modules.

Furthermore, both companies are committed to actively advancing the JDF initiative.".
