Affordable Imposition Software For Small Printers

A Dynagram product story

Small or medium-sized commercial printers looking for an affordable, imposition system for PDF, can now consider the new Atom edition software.

It is claimed to allow for PDF pre-press workflow when coupled with a PDF-enabled RIP.

Atom's wizard 'walks' users through the imposition process to create press-ready files.

Fine-tuning can then be performed directly within Acrobat's light-table interface.

In Atom, press sheets are large PDF pages and the layout elements (press marks, page numbers and page outlines, for instance) are pure PDF objects.

Document pages to be imposed are flown in their native PDF environment.

Being part of Acrobat allows for a WYSIWYG imposition application with three different view profiles for working, proofing and output, said Dynagram.

Atom is said to have been designed for commercial printers working in a composite PDF environment with in-RIP separation.

It offers controls for full compatibility with any PDF-enabled RIP and pre-flighting system.

The PDF version can be selected at output and validated against PDF source documents.

The product is compatible with the latest Adobe Acrobat 8 (Mac and Windows) and runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Mac computers and is available in English, French and Spanish, added Dynagram.
