Delphax's Proprietary System Fuels Growth
Delphax Technologies, of Minneapolis (USA) is a global provider of high-speed digital printing and publishing systems.
To obtain APACS approval, documents printed on the CR1300 system had to be submitted for testing of accuracy and readability to the two organisations deputed by APACS to do the testing.
The testing to rigorous standards was carried out and the results submitted to APACS who then gave its approval for the equipment to be used in producing secure financial documents.
The Crawley-based manufacturer was helped by Eastbourne customer Smith and Ouzman, which installed a Delphax CR1300 printer last year.

Mono Web Press To Grow Digital Work By 80%
Security printer Smith and Ouzman expects to increase the capacity of its digital output facilities by 80 per cent following the installation of a Delphax CR1300 monochrome digital web press.
Smith and Ouzman director Phil Ouzman said: "APACS approval is hugely significant to us as a security printer because we can now target additional business both from existing and new clients.
We already operate equipment that will print APACS approved E13B MICR numbering but the ability to incorporate this in-line at the high speeds possible on our Delphax CR1300 is a major selling point.
The CR1300 has performed extremely reliably since it was commissioned last November, printing high quality monochrome work at 1,300 A4 pages a minute in duplex mode.
The Delphax printer has increased our digital output facilities by around 80 per cent and the flexibility and fast turn-around of this new E13B capability is considerable." Ian Jaggard, the managing director of Delphax UK, commented: "As a company which has specialised in supplying equipment for the financial document printers, we have obtained APACS approval on several of the products we offer.
We have APACS approval on our Imaggia sheet-fed range of printers and the accreditation of our CR series endorses the quality, accuracy and adhesion properties of the image printed on our continuous feed monochrome equipment and reinforces our position as leading suppliers to this specialist niche of the printing industry.
The CR series has already proved itself to be leading the market in terms of quality and output speeds and we believe this additional benefit will appeal to any company involved in producing cheque and security work.
It is an important additional feature both for us as a manufacturer and for our customers.".
