Digital Security Print Accuracy For Polling Cards

Eastbourne (UK) security printer Smith and Ouzman has printed over two million polling cards for the General Election on its high-speed Delphax CR1300 monochrome digital printer.

Smith and Ouzman biught the Delphax printer after seeing it at Drupa last year and is using it for a variety of security work, the most recent of which has been the production of polling cards for many local authorities for the General Election.

Mark Bond, Delphax's European sales manager, also received a surprise when he realised that his polling card had been printed on the company's CR1300.

"I looked at my polling card and was delighted to see that it had been printed by Smith and Ouzman on the machine that I sold them last year.

It was great to see it being put to such a high profile and topical use," commented Bond.

Delphax has just secured APACS approval for its CR series of digital printers, allowing Smith and Ouzman to use the CR1300 for security work, such as cheque and voucher printing.

Phil Ouzman, a director of Smith and Ouzman, commented: "Clarity and accuracy are essential in security printing, such as the polling card work.

The Delphax CR1300 manages to achieve high quality results at an incredibly high speed of 1,300 A4 pages per minute in duplex mode.

I have to say that it has performed extremely well since it was installed last November, enabling us to significantly increase our capacity for producing volume work in short time scales.".
