Poulton is said to have extensive market experience in the direct mail sector, having spent the past 25 years working in sales for digital print suppliers, including Xerox, Scitex and, most recently, Kodak Versamark.
Poulton commented: "Delphax's CR Series of printers is a range of incredibly powerful, fast machines, which makes them absolutely ideal for the kind of high volume printing required by the direct mail and transactional industries.
Indeed, the newest, CR2000 model is believed to be the fastest digital monochrome web printer in the world.
I am looking forward to informing my contacts within these markets about the benefits of the Delphax machines and exploring new opportunities for the company." Delphax launched its latest CR Series model - the CR2000 - at Drupa 2004.
With a range of finishing options, the CR2000 breaks all previous barriers in terms of productivity and versatility.
The company added that it has also just accelerated the performance of its fastest press from its claimed continuous running speed of 450 feet (137 metres) per minute to 500 feet (152 metres) per minute.
Ian Jaggard, the UK managing director of Delphax Technologies, said: "Peter is highly qualified to help grow our market penetration in the direct mail and transactional printing markets, having provided many pioneering systems to major businesses within this sector throughout his career.
