Digital Expo will provide visitors with an opportunity to see an array of the latest digital printing technology first hand and working live.

Digital Expo will provide visitors with an opportunity to see an array of the latest digital printing technology first hand and working live, according to the exhibition organiser, Fversham House Group.

Visitors will see the latest equipment being put through its paces, whilst they can also compare a variety of machines from several suppliers and discuss applications and business opportunities with experts on various exhibitor stands.

It is claimed that Digital Expo, taking place from May 1-3 at the UK's NEC in Birmingham, will make it easier for visitors to see and compare what is on show.

Responding to the industry research carried out after last year's event Faversham House Group has introduced a new live digital print demonstration trail.

The company said that visitors will be able to plan their routes around the show in advance, attending a variety of print, pre-press and finishing demonstrations being staged on stands by exhibiting companies.

Hewlett-Packard, Roland DG, Hybrid, Leopold, Genix, Colourgen, Spandex and Dupont are some of the companies taking part in the new initiative.

Much of the technology being demonstrated will be new to the market and will create opportunities for new applications and bigger profit margins for users, added Faversham House.

HP will be showing how large format 104-inch wide, 720 dots per inch (dpi) x 720dpi graphics can be produced at a claimed 30 square metres per hour on the company's new Designjet 10000 UV mild solvent machine.

With print fade-resistant for three years without lamination and the ability for dual roll, double-sided and mesh printing, the demonstration will be relevant for print service providers, exhibition graphic suppliers and sign makers, said HP.

Print, cut and finish capabilities will be in action on the Hybrid stand with the company's range of Mimaki solvent printers, cutting plotters and Hybrid Titan laminators.

The Hybrid team will demonstrate workflow using die-cut, photo quality stickers as an example, said the company.

The production of short run, high quality, personalised products that will provide users with a USP to boost profits will also be demonstrated.

UV equipment will feature strongly, with Colourgen, Spandex and DuPont showing how users can print on almost any rigid substrate, including doors and glass with the Colorspan 9840uv, Gerber Solara UV2 and Cromaprint 22UV respectively .

The UV curable machines are said to be suitable for a variety of applications, including POP graphics through to truck-side curtains, billboards and theatre back drops.

Digital Expo will also see Adobe and Corel workshops and there will also be a second live demonstration trail dedicated to sign making and a programme of free digital printing seminars.

The seminar programme appeal to anyone looking to enter digital printing, as well as providing new opportunities and revenue generators for companies already working in the arena, said Faversham House.

More details about the live demonstration trails and the seminar programmes will be announced soon, added the company.
