Following independent industry research carried out after Digital Expo 2006, a number of new features have been introduced for the 2007 show.
Digital Expo Shows Digital Print Developments
Digital Expo will provide visitors with an opportunity to see an array of the latest digital printing technology first hand and working live.
Visitors will learn how a little knowledge can make those programmes more powerful design and production aids.
Acording to Digital Expo's organiser, all the sessions are designed to make users of the applications more creative and more efficient.
In a first for the show the seminar programme will include an informal session called 'ask Adobe'.
The new workshop is claimed to be able to give anyone with design and production problems, or other issues or concerns, a chance to get independent advice directly from the experts in open session.
For anybody who wants to create industry standard PDF files from any application, shorten proof cycles, improve pre-press pre-flighting or have greater control over secure document exchange, there will be an Acrobat 8.0 session.
Colour management is a widely discussed aspect of the pre-press process and in response there will be a new workshop covering the subject that will look at choice of colour space, profiling of input and output devices.
The session will be targeted at production staff, designers and sign makers alike.
Each day there will be an introductory session about Coreldraw X3.
The presentation will look at enhanced illustration, page layout, photo-editing, bitmap to vector tracing tools and a new learning centre In the session looking at optimisation for printing and output.
Visitors will be able to see how to maximise Coreldraw's X3 pre-flight engine and colour management tools, as well as how to preview over-prints to ensure that overlapping bleed does not occur.
It is claimed that the session will help printers to avoid costly errors before going to print and output.
Another session will look at adapting photographs for applications, such as signage using Corel's Photo-Paint and Paint Shop Pro Photo XI.
It will showcase the Image Adjustment Lab and cut-out and masking tools, along with colour replacement and digital darkroom techniques to correct common faults.
