Nottingham printer and carton manufacturer, Fine Colour Packaging has invested in its first B1 thermal computer-to-plate system with Dainippon Screen's Platerite 8000.
The Middlesex company said its decision to invest in the Platerite 8000 was in response to changing market trends.
Managing director Lyn Tosh said she researched the market for nine months and commented, "Following our research, we decided that the Platerite 8000 was the most secure route to take and best met our needs.
Our decision was based on the quality of product and service that it provides." Since installing the plate setter and Trueflow, the CTP system's open workflow, Imega Print has said it has seen significant improvements including spotless plate production with perfect registration, faster turnaround times and improved image quality.
The company currently processes approximately 800 Kodak Excel plates each month.
Combined with Trueflow, Imega Print believes it can now handle all popular file formats.
Tosh continued: "Trueflow is the top workflow system and the best all-round solution".
The Platerite 8000 joins the company's three existing Heidelberg presses including B1 6-colour and 5-colour presses plus a 2-colour GTO press.
