CTP And Workflow Updates Russian Print Services
Polygraph Service, in Stavropol, has just installed Russia's first Screen eight-up Platerite 8600 CTP system driven by Trueflow workflow to expand and update its range of printing services.
"Dainippon Screen facilitated a really rapid changeover for us," said Optichrome technical director Paul Sutton: "By Friday lunchtime the Esko-Graphics device was dismantled and removed.
On Saturday morning the scaffolding for lifting the new equipment was constructed.
By Saturday evening the installation was complete and by Sunday lunchtime we had successfully completed test runs." Full production started on Monday and there was effectively no downtime as Dainippon Screen had arranged for another repro house to handle Optichrome's throughput for the weekend, he added.
All Optichrome suppliers have to undergo a stringent approval process, explained Sutton.
"We chose Dainippon Screen because it was straightforward to integrate the system into our existing Esko-Graphics Flowdrive workflow and we also wanted to maintain our relationship with KPG as plate supplier." The Platerite 8600 provides high productivity with a wide range of plate sizes, from GTO-size to 8-up, and is ideal for exceptionally fast and reliable output from a single unit across this range of plate sizes, continued Sutton: "We have improved run lengths and we are now producing 20 B1 plates per hour - twice as fast as our previous device with a great improvement in dot quality.".
