The Trueflow Archive Manager software stores or archives selected Trueflow-related job files on a separate storage system, such as a DVD jukebox, tape changer, or disk array, and also stores information about archive sets in a database.
The Trueflow-related job files include: Postscript, PDF, image, hot folder, dot TIFF, signature, template, and database files.
"When I went to look at CTP equipment, Archive Manager was ahead of everything else," explained Trevor Perkins, studio manager at Northampton-based Charter Print Group, which adopted Trueflow at the same time as acquiring a Dainippon Screen Platerite 8100.
Archive Manager, with what are claimed as modest system requirements, can run on a relatively low-cost PC and it was easily installed as a module on Lavenham's Trueflow system without extensive modifications.
"Using the scheduling function, our jobs are archived once a week in off-peak time, maximising productivity.
Trueflow Archive Manager is an innovative archiving solution that improves data-handling and management capabilities," concluded Perkins.
Trueflow is compatible with Dainippon's recently announced Trueflownet JDF- which will be on display at Drupa 2004 in Hall 5, Stand 5D01.
With Trueflownet, Trueflow users will be able to seamlessly integrate their high-quality prepress production with the remainder of their business processes - either Dainippon Screen-based or other JDF-compatible technologies.
As a result, print companies will have ultimate control over a highly automated and streamlined print ordering and production process, with fully integrated cost and management intelligence at all stages.
