Inkspot of Dublin has just successfully upgraded from CTF to CTPs with the installation of a thermal Screen Platerite 4300 with single auto plate loader SA-L4100 and Trueflow workflow software.

"We decided to upgrade to the latest Trueflow workflow and thermal B2 CTP to reduce costs, improve quality and achieve faster turnaround.

We spoke directly to Screen at Drupa and found the team to be very helpful and professional; the equipment demonstration they gave us was highly impressive," said Inkspot production manager Alan Hanrahan.

Founded 13 years ago, Inkspot processes in excess of 1,000 plates per month for a clientele, which is highly demanding, consisting primarily of designers and design studios also working directly with blue-chip companies including the pharmaceutical sector and financial institutions.

"Our core business consists of the production of high quality full colour print work, our client base is both national and international.

With the Screen solution installed we can now offer improved customer service by achieving much higher production speeds and, therefore, substantially increasing our turnaround speeds at the proofing stage and at pre-press output," continued Hanrahan.

He is now considering further investment enhancing this new technology by installing the Screen Trueflow JDF capability.

Hanrahan predicts a move towards the end of 2004 to a JDF based workflow.

He feels it will sharpen Inkspot's competitive edge and there are obvious advantages to streamlining the information for management, pre-press and press departments.
