Dainippon Thermal CTP For Imega Print
Imega Print who service design and marketing companies, has bought its first Screen B1 thermal Dainippon Platerite 8000 CTP system with Trueflow workflow software.
"Screen's Trueflow workflow system can send the ink volume setting information directly to the Ryobi via the press control system.
The Screen CTP and workflow, together with the press configuration also means that one of the benefits is that we can bring all wet proofing in-house, enabling us to produce proofs on the press in less than 20 minutes.
That reduces outsourcing costs and give us much more control over quality," said Repro City sales and marketing director Brett Preston.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Repro City is a commercial colour printer providing print, print management, perfect binding, finishing, and mailing services.
Its main clients are advertising agencies and designers with the focus on magazines, and corporate promotion for a range of customers including leading telecommunications service providers.
Using around 400 high-quality plates per month, Repro City found the flexibility of choice offered by Screen (ranging from the Platerite 4100 at 10 plates per hour to the Platerite 4300 at 20 plates per hour) very attractive.
"We had a good look round the platesetter market and concluded that thermal is the future.
Most plates supplied to us were thermal, and a lot of our suppliers were using Screen equipment.
In our experience with the PlateRite 4100 we find plate production is smoother and faster, and we achieve a better dot reproduction," continued Brett.
Steve Ford, Repro City studio manager added: "Trueflow is wonderful.
We had no workflow program as such before and used a layout-driven workflow, with an imposition design program as the 'control panel' for the RIP workflow." He commented that following his previous experience and in comparison with other workflow systems, Trueflow seemed much more logical and intuitive.
"With Trueflow it's a lot easier because you use the same file for digital proofing and digital platemaking; there's no chance of corruption, or fonts dropping off.
It's also faster because there is no duplication of processes, no need to re-RIP, for example.
The system can run automatically, unattended, overnight, meaning that 20 to 30 plates can be ready for the first shift at 6.00a.m," he added.
