Croydon (UK) commercial printer Prolitho has invested in the Platerite 8000II, Screen's semi-automated B1 thermal CTP system.

Croydon (UK) commercial printer Prolitho has invested in the Platerite 8000II Screen's semi-automated B1 thermal CTP system, to complement the company's new Heidelberg eight colour B1 perfector press.

In order to handle the company's demand for multi-page brochure production, Screen said its system was the obvious choice as it will also be able to cope with the second B1 press that Prolitho will be installing at the end of the year.

At the same time, the company has upgraded its Trueflow to the latest Trueflow 3 workflow server in order to increase plate production.

"The Platerite was installed over the weekend and was fully-operational by the Monday" commented Andy Cook, the systems manager at Prolitho.

"We invested in a B2 Platerite 4000 with Trueflow front end three years ago with good results.

The system is very easy to use and Screen seemed the natural choice when it came to move up a level.

Plus upgrading our existing Trueflow server we knew there would only be a minimal amount of training," he continued.

The company specialises in producing commercial work, such as marketing material, point of sale and brochures.

A focus on quality, service and delivery has made it a primary print partner with companies that include design agencies and print managers.

The thermal Platerite 8000II images variable plate sizes from B3 to B1 and can produce over 100 plates in a single eight hour shift, claimed Screen.

Standard features include punching and automated drum balance.
