T S Trykk from Oslo (Norway) has installed Screen's B1 Platerite 8600 CTP system with multi-cassette autoloader (MAL) and Trueflow 3 workflow to enhance its pre-press workflow and expand its customer base.
Supplied by Coloro AS, T S Trykk's aim was to achieve the highest quality print results in its market, whilst bringing plate production in-house.
Tom Storli, the managing director of T S Trykk, has had experience working with Screen equipment and software in the past, including a Platerite 1050 platesetter and Taiga workflow, so he knew Screen offered a quality he could rely on and trust.
He said: "After in-depth product research and speaking to other users, we chose Screen because it gives us all we need - high-quality and reliability, plus the flexibility and freedom to choose any plate without being tied in to a lengthy consumables contract.
Trueflow 3 is extremely easy to work with and the best workflow available on the market today.
We chose to add further Screen modules to the workflow, including SPEKTA screening, Flatworker, PDF Polisherin, CIP3 and Outline PDF, which enable us to achieve a very high quality of print, a quality for which we are known and which sets us above other printers in the market." Tom Storli, who set up the company four years ago, is pleased at his recent investment: "This is our first independently-owned CTP and we are looking forward to taking on more customers and more jobs as a result.
Screen offers the most reliable product on the market today with the Platerite 8600 and we have not been disappointed." T S Trykk specialises in printing and folding and prints a variety of work such as brochures, magazines, books, catalogues and posters for local and national customers, which includes corporate clients and advertising companies.
SPEKTA is a hybrid AM/FM screening method, which takes advantage of optical dot gain enabling users to reduce operating costs by reducing ink usage by up to 20 per cent, it is claimed.
With SPEKTA screening the company can move from a PDF and PostScript workflow in to a JDF-based environment and achieve communication between MIS, pre-press, press and post-press operations, said Screen.
The Platerite 8600 is said to offer reliable CTP output at 20 plates an hour and with the MAL option, users can have continual plate feeding, imaging up to 500 plates of five different sizes without operator involvement.
The Platerites also provide in-line punching and on-line processing and can image a range of thermal plates.
