In order to meet the demands of its new Heidelberg B1 12-colour perfector, EPC Bristol has invested in a PlateRite 8800 computer-to-plate (CTP) system from Screen.

In order to meet the demands of its new Heidelberg B1 12-colour perfector, EPC Bristol has invested in a PlateRite 8800 computer-to-plate (CTP) system from Screen.

The device is an upgrade from Screen's PlateRite 8000 system and has increased the company's production by 300 per cent.

'As the market changes, printers have to adapt accordingly and I believe the new press and platesetter were necessary investments for our business,' commented Matthew Trounce, managing director of EPC Direct.

'I believe in order to grow, B1 printers have to invest in B1 multi-colour perfectors to remain competitive.

'This is a hungry press and I needed a high-speed platesetter to keep it busy.

'We are now expanding our customer base to serve the longer run needs of banks, building societies and other financial organisations'.

The PlateRite 8800 installed at EPC Bristol replaces a Screen PlateRite 8000 and incorporates the latest state-of-the-art GLV technology, providing the company with the ultimate in speed and quality for the large-format commercial printer.

The flexibility to image on a wide range of plate sizes from A3 to B1 makes the PlateRite 8800 the ultimate multi-purpose platesetter to serve the needs of the company's new press.

This investment makes the fifth Screen platesetter purchased by EPC Direct.
