Dainippon Thermal CTP For Imega Print
Imega Print who service design and marketing companies, has bought its first Screen B1 thermal Dainippon Platerite 8000 CTP system with Trueflow workflow software.
Digital print, shorter runs and on-demand printing have presented real challenges for traditional printers who need to consistently create greater efficiencies in the production process to remain competitive.
In 2005, we made a decision to move to CTP to ensure we could meet these challenges head on and remain competitive in the market." He continued: "We considered a number of CTP suppliers, but in the end decided on Screen and its violet Platerite 2055Vi CTP, as we had been using a Screen FTR 3050 imagesetter for over 10 years and its consistency and reliability was outstanding.
I have always been very impressed with the strength and reliability of Screen's products and its technology, so when we made the decision to go down the CTP route, Screen was a natural partner for us." Hartley and his team worked closely with Screen distributor for the north-west, Service Offset Supplies NW, to ensure the company purchased the right Platesetter for the specific needs of the company, which uses UV and conventional inks on its presses.
As a result, the platesetter is now meeting the needs of all of Stramongate's Heidelberg presses, including a five colour B2 Speedmaster 72, a two colour MO and two GTO 46s.
Concluded Hartley: "We are very happy we remained with Screen when we moved from film to CTP and believe it's helping us to maintain our commercial edge in a highly competitive environment.
Having the Screen workflow in the pre-press department has given us added confidence and confirmed for us that our decision to move to CTP was the right one.
I have total confidence that with Screen we have a long term, reliable partner for the future." Celebrating 20 years in business this year, Stramongate Press employs 10 staff and services an extensive list of blue chip and SME clients around the Cumbrian and North Lancashire region.
