Since adding Ukrainian Polygraphic Group (UPG) to its reseller network last September, Screen said it has seen an uptake of its thermal platesetters in the region to attain market leadership in the country.

UPG and established Screen reseller Printing Systems serve the expanding graphic arts market in Ukraine, selling and supporting the full range of Screen CTP systems and Trueflow workflow systems.

Since joining Screen's distributor network, UPG has installed three B1 Platerite 8000s driven by Trueflow to print and publishing customers throughout Ukraine, including commercial printers Asto (Donetsk), Salta (Sinferopol), Kolorit (Kiev) and printer-publisher Media Art (Zaporozhye).

UPG is keen to keep its customers up-to-date with the latest Screen developments and has also organised a visit to the Screen headquarters in Kyoto (Japan) where customers had the opportunity to see CTP production first-hand.

Screen said that the key factors behind the popularity and success of its products in the Ukrainian market are the quality, productivity and reliability inherent in its technology.

In particular Screen's CTP systems provide output for four-up, eight-up 16-up, 24-up and 36-up formats, to provide a system for every production volume and workflow requirement.

Frans Kops, northern European sales manager for Screen, said: "Our early success in the Ukrainian market is very encouraging and is due to a combination of our strong distribution network and the quality of our products." Vitaly Siratskii, vice president of UPG, explained: "Screen is a first-class, professional company with a great reputation, which has generated a lot of interest in both B1 and B2 platemaking systems.

I'm looking forward to a busy year ahead.".
