Dainippon Thermal CTP For Imega Print
Imega Print who service design and marketing companies, has bought its first Screen B1 thermal Dainippon Platerite 8000 CTP system with Trueflow workflow software.
Claimed to be able to be tailored to a printer's production workflow, Riteportal SE is also said to simplify the PDF creation, pre-flight, certification, encryption and delivery of pre-defined PDF files in to a 'click-and-print' process from the desktop for on-line and off-line delivery.
Screen added that the system eliminates the problems often associated with bad PDFs, such as incorrect profile settings and missing fonts.
Certified PDFs created by customers are uploaded to the print site's Riteportal SE server and automatically placed in to pre-determined hot folders, or print queues.

First Dainippon Multi-Format CTP At Bemrose Booth
Specialist and secure print services group Bemrose Booth has ordered the UK's first Dainippon Screen Ultima multi-format computer to plate system, as part of its strategy to increase automation.
As a result, print jobs get on press with fewer delays and quality results are guaranteed, added the company.
Riteportal SE complies with JDF and PDF/X-1a open standards to ensure flexibility and scalability and integrates with Trueflow.
Brian Filler, the managing director of Screen UK, said: "The Truepress 344 is attracting considerable interest from companies that already own variable data digital presses and want to add profitable short-run litho quality print to their range of services." He added that the Truepress 344 is also an ideal choice for the B1 and B2 quality printer who needs the flexibility to produce smaller format, economical print runs, with a quality that is comparable to their existing offset presses.
Filler commented that pre-press firms and existing digital print companies can also benefit from the ability to print on a range of substrates and the opportunity to produce longer print runs more economically than can be achieved with other digital presses.
The Truepress 344 is designed as a production machine for commercial print requirements and it is claimed to provide a high return on investment quickly.
With a claimed maximum printing speed of 7,000 A3+ sheets per hour, the four-colour Truepress 344 press produces a 500 sheet single-sided job from start to finish in less than 15 minutes (size range - 9cm x 14cm to 34cm x 47cm), added Screen.
A make-ready time of five minutes is achieved by using a combination of the high-speed 830nm MALD (multi array laser diode) imaging with a new process-less plate technology from Konica Minolta, added Screen.
