Screen has introduced Spekta 2 HR, a high-resolution option to its Spekta 2 hybrid screening system that is claimed to reproduce ultra-smooth images by combining the best of conventional and FM screening.

With a 15micron dot size in the highlight and shadow areas, Spekta 2 HR is said to enable users to print very fine detail avoiding moire clashes, making it particularly suitable for high-quality catalogue and brochure work and jobs featuring integrated metallics.

Screen said that benefit of Spekta 2 HR is that it is easy to implement and achieves outstanding quality results, whilst the software has the ability to reduce ink usage by as much as 20 per cent, resulting in savings for printers.

Spekta 2 users can add Spekta 2 HR for free and all future Spekta 2 packages will include the Spekta 2 HR facility as standard, added Screen.

The software is available immediately from Screen and its reseller partners.
