First Dainippon Multi-Format CTP At Bemrose Booth
Specialist and secure print services group Bemrose Booth has ordered the UK's first Dainippon Screen Ultima multi-format computer to plate system, as part of its strategy to increase automation.
The interest has been so high we have had to remove a side panel of the plate autoloader to demonstrate what is happening inside this wonderful device." The Platerite Ultima 36000 is claimed to be the world's highest productivity CTP system of its kind and the system outputs plate sizes up to a maximum 2,100mm x 1,600mm, added Screen.
The device is also said to produce 29 plates per hour and 59 plates per hour when imaging two B1 plates simultaneously.
The system features GLVTM imaging technology that utilises a 512-channel imaging head and laser control to produce reliable halftone dot quality, added the company.
A large format CTP system was critical as Schwegler needed to image and deliver plates for a large format Man Roland 900XXL press to avoid any downtime and maximise productivity.
Peter Volke added: "After researching the market, we chose Screen's Platerite Ultima 36000 because of the accurate plate punching and our previous experience of the reliable B1 Platerite 8000 CTP device.
We knew we would be guaranteed excellent service and support from Screen and we have a strong relationship with Screen distributor, Koller.
Working with the Platerite 36000 is a joy and loading is very convenient, which is important when handling these large sizes." Colour and standards specialist, System Brunner, evaluated the Screen Platerite Ultima 36000 platesetter and the Man Roland 900XXL press with positive results, added Screen.
The institute issued Schwegler with the mark of approval 'sehr gut' (very good) for Screen's CTP device quoting: 'the Platerite has set a new level of quality for the future of platemaking'.
Schwegler produces brochures, posters, magazines and catalogues and uses Screen's hybrid Spekta screening when producing photographs for car brochures.
"Spekta is a great value added service for our clients who are very impressed with the quality," commented Peter Volkle.
