Spekta 2 HR Screening Helps Chevalier Revolution
Screen's Spekta 2 HR screening has helped to revolutionise brochure production at one of Europe's most respected and progressive colour printers, Chevalier International
The new software, which ensures high quality image reproduction and a high level of clarity and detail, was recently installed alongside Screen's large format 16-page PlateRite Ultima CTP device.
Based in The Netherlands, Chevalier specialises in high quality work for the demanding automotive and fashion industries and is one of the first companies outside Japan to use the new version of Screen's Spekta 2 screening software.
The company produces vibrant brochures for Jeep, Mazda and Mexx to name a few.
Chevalier chief executive officer, Diederik Chevalier, is enthusiastic about the benefits that Screen's Spekta 2 HR screening brings to his business: "What makes Spekta 2 HR unique is its ability to reproduce exceptional detail in half-tone images while allowing you to print flawless tints and vignettes on the same page".
Chevalier continues, "We compete with some of the best printers in Europe and Spekta 2 HR allows us to be a cut above the rest".
After seeing work produced using Spekta 2 HR screening, the senior production director of Jeep's advertising agency said: "You have effectively created photographs on your presses - the quality is outstanding".
Mazda Europe's advertising agency is also keen on the results that Spekta 2 HR can produce and now uses the standard achieved by Chevalier as its benchmark for European production.
Chevalier has long recognised the potential benefits of hybrid and stochastic screening as a way of differentiating its work but like other printers realised that it was not a solution for every situation.
With the release of the latest version of Screen's Spekta 2 HR hybrid screening software, that has changed and as Sander Been, Chevalier's technical project manager explains, "the ease of reproduction on press and the consistency from job to job means we get all the benefits with none of the drawbacks normally associated with very high-resolution screening".
Chevalier started printing in colour early in the twentieth century and the latest generation represented by Diederik and his cousins recognises, that a good history is only an advantage if the company keeps developing.
With Spekta 2 HR Screening, Chevalier is able to offer a level of quality that ensures that they continue to attract quality projects from blue chip companies.
