During the Digital Print World exhibition, Screen said it will demonstrate Truepress 344's fast make-ready as part of its short run, four-colour output at a claimed true litho printing quality.

Screen said that rapid print speeds and quick job change-overs are features of the A3 four-colour Truepress 344 driven by Screen's latest version of its Trueflow workflow system.

The Truepress 344 is also said to feature the latest innovations in printing plates and laser imaging, as well as automation and quality control.

The Truepress 344 monitors its own ink and water, fine tunes itself, washes up automatically, loads and images the next set of plates and prints 7,000 sheets per hour, claimed Screen.

In addition, the first-generation dot ensures that image quality is transferred directly on to the plate.

The press is claimed to produce a 500-sheet, single-sided job in less than 15 minutes with a size range of 9cm x 14cm to 34cm x 47cm) whilst printing on standard litho substrates.

The press uses the latest processless thermal plates, which do not require chemical processing.

Brian Filler, the managing director of Screen UK, commented: "We want to give printers the opportunity to see for themselves that the Truepress 344 digital offset press is an ideal choice for any printing company, as well as companies who already own variable data digital presses and want to add lucrative short-run litho quality print to their range of services.".
