Dainippon Thermal CTP For Imega Print
Imega Print who service design and marketing companies, has bought its first Screen B1 thermal Dainippon Platerite 8000 CTP system with Trueflow workflow software.
The new system is said by Screen to be suitable for a user's first entry to the full-colour variable printing market.
Its is also claimed to provide a 64-metres per minute print speed, approximately 420 pages per minutes (ppm) for A4-size printing, and its output is created through a grayscale inkjet head that supports up to 720 dots per inch (dpi) reproduction.
The printer consists of one print unit of the Truepress Jet520 and allows the user to switch between 250mm maximum sheet width in duplex printing and 520mm maximum sheet width when simplex printing.
Two printing units can be combined to print a 520mm maximum sheet width with duplex printing and approximately 840ppm for A4 printing (dual engine duplex) added the company.
Tim Taylor, Screen's European marketing manager, commented: "Nobody questions that variable colour content can increase the value of a document.
However, not every company has enough information on its customers to fill both sides of a sheet with customised material.
Being able to switch from simplex to duplex printing on a single engine makes this the ideal machine to help printers change from jobs that use static colour content and a black overprint to jobs with fully variable colour.".
