GBP8m Sales Makes Drupa Most Successful
For Screen
Screen said it had its most successful Drupa exhibition with GBP8 million of sales for its CTP and print on demand technology made to companies around the world.
Screen UK added that it experienced particularly strong interest from its UK, Middle East and African markets Interest in its digital and DI technology was also strong with companies in Saudi Arabia and UAE buying four Truepress 344 DI offset presses

First Sheetfed Inkjet Printer To Use Normal Paper
The prototype of what is claimed to be the world's first sheetfed inkjet printing technology for use with ordinary printing paper has been launched by Screen at Drupa 2008.
Orders were also taken for three Truepress Jet520 inkjet web-fed print systems.
The company said it used Drupa to demonstrate its vision for creating a digital future in print with a range of digital printing technologies.
The company presented digital printing systems in large format, web fed and sheet-fed systems.
The Truepress Jet SX, which is claimed to be the world's first B2 sheet-fed colour inkjet press to print on standard, untreated paper, was unveiled on the first day of Drupa.
It will be commercially available in June 2009.
Screen said that whilst digital technologies were a major focus at Drupa, it also recorded a claimed record breaking level of CTP sales.
Screen said that it has a 30 per cent share of the CTP market,with platesetters claimed to suit all requirements from four-page, eight-page, 16-page, 24-page, 36-page, 80-page and 96-page devices, for commercial, newspaper and flexo applications.
Brian Filler, Screen UK's managing director, commented: "Drupa was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our vision for a digital future in print.
We showed the broadest range of digital print technologies for the widest range of applications, spanning labels, transactional, newspapers, commercial and large format.
The fact that the busiest areas at Drupa were the digital halls confirmed the direction of the industry.
This was the best Drupa for visitors since 1982 with more sales here than before." He added: "We sold more Platerite units at Drupa than at any other show.
We experienced unprecedented interest from the Middle East, particularly, taking orders for 30 units ranging from B2 to VLF formats.".
