Providing Real-Time Data In Hungary Print Plants
Elanders has selected DiMS to implement its management system and Direct Machine Interface (DMI) in its production plants in Hungary.

Continually getting the most out of available resources by optimising processes is a never ending responsibility for the management of printing and packaging companies, in DIMS' opinion.
The company added that challenges are likely to include continually improving customer service to meet the growing demands of the marketplace, controlling costs and enhancing efficiency and information reporting.

Global PDF Printing Made Easy By Adobe
Adobe Systems is making it easier to print Adobe PDF files with its release of the latest in Acrobat product family.
That can be achieved by integrating separate processes within or across plants in to one enterprise.
DIMS believes that failing to meet those challenges can inhibit business growth and profitability.
The company's software is a web-enabled package that integrates the range of printing and administrative processes.
DIMS is said to have a proactive workflow that streamlines and automates complex business processes through real-time communication of data over the internet from sales, estimating and customer relationship management through pre-press, production, shipping, invoicing and financial functions.
DiMS! 700 includes improvements to the functionality of the workflow page, which is extended to make the tool more powerful and flexible.
The arrangement of the screen is now more convenient, which allows users, at a single glance, to see what their personal responsibilities are and the items to check to continue a smooth order process.
Another advantage is that the standard screen set-up, which contains the privileges for every available function, can now be personalised by each individual user, added the company.
Advanced production tracking (APT) is a new module in DIMS.
Developed together with print and packaging companies, the APT is said to provide complete tracking of all production material, whether raw material or work in progress inventory.
Its integration with DIMS scheduling (iPlan) enables real-time visibility of job status, time usage and inventory.
Additional functionality includes work in progress labelling and integration directly to the press for immediate production information.
New functions in scheduling optimises form or sheet layout automatically when moving to a different size press.
In addition, a revised production estimate will be produced so that accurate and relevant estimated and actual time and cost comparisons can be made.
Scott Nicey, business development manager and CCM at DIMS, said: "With prominent customers such as PMP Limited, a corporate office located in Melbourne and continued worldwide recognition in the form of a repeat nomination for a Label Industry Global Award, there has been no limit to the Australian opportunities.".
