Dims MIS improves workflow efficiency at Westend

A DiMS product story

A large web offset printer in Germany, Westend Druckereibetriebe, has overhauled its business processes using the Dims management information system (MIS).

Following a phased implementation of the Dims MIS, Westend Druckereibetriebe has connected all its business processes - from estimating, purchasing, accounting, data collection, order management and planning to logistics and shipping - to improve the efficiency of the company's workflow.

Westend's aim was to use the MIS software to modernise its IT infrastructure and streamline production to make the company stronger commercially.

'We've completely changed our functions and workflows since implementing the Dims system,' said Dr Ralph Dittmann, managing director of Westend Druckereibetriebe.

'Dims has given us an ultra-modern, coherent IT architecture and it allows us to push back redundant process steps within the company and respond faster.

'It has made our internal workflow far more efficient,' he added.

Westend conducted a year-long analysis of the different systems on the market before opting for the Dims MIS.

The company phased the implementation over a six-month period, with the software deployed gradually throughout the various departments.

The system enables Westend to create a quote on a laptop while visiting a customer.

Dims MIS also integrates Microsoft Office software packages, such as Word and Excel.
