London's only showcase event dedicated to the full digital print production process from concept to completion is already attracting major names to its exhibitors' list.

London's only showcase event dedicated to the full digital print production process from concept to completion is already attracting major names to its exhibitors' list.

Digital Print World 2004 has signed up Agfa, Quark and Screen as the latest companies to sign up to the show and will debut their most recent developments at the event (Olympia 2, October 26 - 28 2004).

Amongst the product launches in the UK to be featured at the show will be the Truepress 344 digital offset press, which will get its UK commercial launch alongside the Ryobi 3404X-DI press from Apex Digital Graphics.

On the MIS front, Tharstern is introducing its JDF Workflow Connector, and Copytrax Technologies will launch its two printing technologies, including the Dye-Sublimination printer, claimed to be the first ever P55 printer from TEAC that couples with GAMMA auto-loading robotics.

In finishing, Morgana plans to debut the Morgana Cardmaster first seen as a prototype at Drupa 2004.

With more than double the exhibition space and a host of interactive features the event will offer demonstrations of the industry's best and fastest developing technologies said show organisers IIR Exhibitions.

The areas of interest range right across the digital board from design and creative, imaging, asset and database management, to MIS, colour digital printing and large format systems.

The Digital Print Shop, organised and jointly sponsored by Objectif Lune, along with Xeretec, and Neusiedler, this year will focus on the use of variable data in document production and the benefits of its integration in a digital workflow.

Using the Xerox 6060 to print a variety of files at the show, including a personalised show guide, floor plan and golf score card, visitors will be able to experience first hand the gains to be made from storing intelligent documents on a printer leaving only the data to be sent from the host system.

The results will be complex personalised documents created at optimum speeds, on demand.

The full colour show guide and floor plan, both printed on demand at the event, will use pre-defined web-based visitor data to create fully finished personalised printed versions of both.

For all the golfers, the Digital Print Shop will also print full colour prints of personalised golf scorecards for any visitor who pre-submits golf course data plus match details.

The effective handicap for those players that don't have one will be calculated and the results presented, hole by hole, using colour to highlight pars, birdies and bogies and a simple summary for up to four players will also be provided.

The London College of Communications (formerly LCP) will be holding its Futures Conference, prepared for and aimed specifically at undergraduates.

Held across the three-day event the conference aims to attract senior members of the print and publishing industry to speak and provide students with an insight into where the industry is going.

In a series of exhibitor seminars to be held throughout the three-day event, visitors will also get the opportunity to listen to a number of new, refreshing and interesting speaker perspectives, from companies including Nexpress Solutions and Quark, on the digital print industry.

The 30-minute seminars start daily at 10.00 in the workflow cinema sponsored by Quark, and the Digital Output Showcase sponsored by Hewlett Packard.

"We are really pleased with the phenomenal interest in this years Digital Print World.

The industry seems to be buoyant at the moment and is proving that we have got the recipe right this year, with impressive registration figures already," commented Richard Gayle, IIR's event manager for Digital Print World.

Visitors can register now for free tickets to the show via the Digital Print World web site.
