Danka, the vendor-independent provider of high-volume production printers, has announced the addition of the Ricoh Printing Systems Digital Document Publisher (DDP) 184 to its portfolio.
It also included Infotec International, Danka's dealer channel in Europe.
As a Ricoh company, Infotec will enable the Ricoh Group to strengthen its sales and service force in the major countries in Europe, drawing on the European operations of the former Danka businesses, said the company.
It added that in particular, Infotec's strength in the high-volume and production marketplaces will play a valuable role in developing Ricoh's market presence in that area.
Infotec's range will include integrated digital imaging systems, direct mail production and transactional print-on-demand.
Key markets will remain central and local government, the legal, financial services and higher education sectors, as well as the graphic arts and commercial print markets, added the company.
Peter Williams, chief operating officer of Infotec Europe, commented: "Having led Danka's development in the European high-volume market for many years, it is testimony to our achievements that Ricoh envisages Infotec becoming a key channel in this market.
Ricoh and Danka Europe had a long OEM relationship under the Infotec brand and Danka had an in-depth knowledge of Ricoh products." He continued: "Ricoh was already familiar with the culture and business style of Danka Europe and satisfied that our integration in to the Ricoh Group would be smooth.
For my team, it is an exciting proposition to help Ricoh retain and expand its presence across Europe.
Ricoh and former Danka Europe customers will undoubtedly benefit from the strengthened product range and service network.".
